Join us this October for two horror films with fairytale roots, repressed desire, coming of age all centering around female sexuality! Cat People finishes off this month's Grimm Matinee series on shapeshifting and desire, paired earlier in October with The Company of Wolves.

Cat People (1982), 118 minutes, rated R

Nastassja Kinski stars in Paul Schrader's sensuous, unsettling remake of the 1942 horror classic — a fever dream about desire, inheritance, and the animal self we can't outrun. When Irena reunites with her estranged brother in New Orleans, old family secrets start to surface, and she begins to suspect her body is capable of something neither of them can explain. Equal parts erotic thriller and body horror, with a hypnotic synth score by Giorgio Moroder (and that unforgettable David Bowie title theme), Cat People turns lust into something genuinely dangerous.

The CAMi bar will be open with spirits available for purchase.
